Psalm 119:11 Copywork

Friday, October 9th, 2009

Good Day Everyone,
Psalm 119:11 is our memory verse for the week. I thought I would share what I made up for the kids to do tomorrow. We haven’t yet done anything like this, we usually just memorize the verses and I assign them as copywork. Today when I was making the copywork page up, it looked so blank with just the verse. I thought of putting a few more verses and maybe a graphic or two. But then the idea hit me about maybe having them writing the verse out in their own words! But something was still missing. I know! How about writing how they can apply the verse to their lives today? Yeah!
So what you have here is the finished product. I am planning on continuing this with future verses.
Enjoy.

A Child’s Prayer Copywork Correction

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

**Note: I found an error in this download, so if you downloaded it before today, Oct. 1st, 4:30pm, please download it again. I had typed in ‘many go’ when it should have been ‘may go’ in the first stanza.
A Child’s Prayer
God make my life a little light,
Within the world to glow—
A tiny flame that burneth bright,
Wherever I may go.
God make my life a little flower,
That bringeth joy to all,
Content to bloom in native bower,
Although its place be small.
God make my life a little song,
That comforteth the sad,
That helpeth others to be strong,
And makes the singer glad.

Number Line Help

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

This time it is my daughter who needs the chart.
She is also doing Saxon 54, and she almost always misses the number line questions. So I made her a step-by-step on how to find the number on the number line.
Her basic problem was not knowing the value of the lines between two numbers. If she was presented with this problem,

she would have a hard time with what each line between 50 and 60 represent.
I made her the chart yesterday, so we will see how effective it is for her after a few lessons.
The thing is I don’t think she was figuring out the difference betweenn the two points first. She was just guessing.

Written Number Chart

Friday, September 25th, 2009

My son, who is doing Saxon 54, has to write out numbers, and unfortunately, he doesn’t know how to spell some of them, so I made up this chart for him to use as reference until they are ingrained in his mind. Maybe someone can use it also.

My Apologies…

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

for the unnecessary email in your in boxes this morning. I don’t believe it had anything to do with me since I haven’t been around, it might have been a Feedburner hiccup. But…needless to say, I was a little embarrassed. *Grin*
So, as a way of saying I am sorry, I made up a cute piece of copywork. It is such an adorable poem that the kids can copy and maybe memorize. I will be giving it to my kids today. Enjoy!

I haven’t been doing much with blogging as you can see. Like you, I have been b-iiiiiiii-zy! Still working on that organization thing!
The kids have been doing their studies fairly well. They get Bible and math done regularly. Writing most days and we are working towards an hour of reading …not including read aloud time. Slow and steady!
I still do have to push them a little in the morning, I am waiting patiently for the day when that [...More]

Sharing Freebies From Around the Net

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Well, as I was wasting time browsing the web, I found a few things to share. I will add them to the ‘Other Freebies’ page. Some you might have already known about, and some might be new treasures.
